Hi, I’m Laura Szymanski

You're doing too much. Things fall through the cracks. You can't tell me exactly who's responsible for what, or why the same tasks always land back on your plate, no matter how many times you hand them off. You know you need help. You just don't know what kind, or where to even start looking.

Processes. Systems. People. Goals. Playbooks. That's the language I think in, no matter what door I walked through to get there.

I see what you can't see from inside your own business. The gaps nobody's named yet. The tasks that keep you up at night. The hire you need but haven't defined. The goal everyone nods at in a meeting and nobody actually owns.

I've spent 17 years getting curious about how businesses and people actually work. Not the pitch deck version.

The real one, the one running on someone's memory, someone's late nights, someone's refusal to let it fall apart.

I build the thing that replaces that. Systems instead of memory. Ownership instead of hoping. A playbook instead of a person who has to be everywhere at once.

I help business owners see what they can't see from inside their own business.

My background

17+years across industries that had almost nothing in common except complexity, high stakes, and the need for someone who could hold the operational center while everyone else focused on what they did best. I'm the person who shows up when things are complicated, figures out what's actually missing, and builds the infrastructure that lets the people with the vision actually execute it. I've spent my career as someone's operational right hand, turning strategy into action and making sure the right people are moving in the same direction.

One thing has been true at every single company I've worked with: nobody has clear roles and responsibilities written down anywhere. I build RACI frameworks and ownership documentation as a matter of course now, not because a client asked for it, but because it's always the first thing missing. At BC Brands, I built roles and responsibilities documentation across a three-brand, 50-person company where none had existed. At SMPLFD, I built the same thing alongside a full employee handbook and contracts, and cut damaged goods and reputational risk 15 percent in six months. It's consistent enough across every industry I've touched that I built it into its own product.

At BC Brands, I also built the entire operating system from scratch beyond just RACI, accountability structures, scorecards, weekly leadership rhythms, OKRs that people actually tracked. I ran full cycle hiring and onboarding across two states and wrote the handbook.

Before that, I was the strategic right hand to a CIO through a fintech post-acquisition integration, building the OKR framework for the entire technology org and realigning how the executive team communicated. Product adoption went up 25 percent. Executive workload dropped 15 percent. Earlier in that same company, I led teams across three regions at once and owned initiatives that saved $2.2 million a year and touched 1.6 million clients.

On the consulting side, I've built what businesses actually needed, not what looked good on paper. CRM and workflow systems for a SaaS company that cut admin time 35 percent and helped drive 26 percent revenue growth in six months. A full financial cleanup and new accounting process for Knollwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Executive support and task systems for RKARAMOKO and Detroit Is the New Black that saved 40 hours a month.

That range is the point. It's how I learned to see the pattern underneath any business instead of getting stuck on one industry's specifics. The problem is rarely the industry. It's almost always the same handful of things: unclear ownership, no documented process, one person holding it all together in their head.

HOW I WORK

I look at how your business actually operates, day to day, task by task. Not what the org chart says, what's really happening. I map out your processes and workflows, who's doing what and why. I find the gaps. The things nobody owns. The stuff that only works because you personally remember to do it.

This starts with me spending real time inside your business before I recommend anything. Not a questionnaire, not a template. I want to see what you're actually doing versus what you think you're doing, and those two things are rarely the same.

From there, I build the structure to fix it. Clear ownership, clear process, a business that doesn't depend on you holding every piece in your head. Hiring and onboarding plans, so a new person can actually ramp up instead of guessing. Standard operating procedures, Master Playbooks, along with documented processes for the things that only run because they're in your head right now.

You'll always know exactly what phase we're in and what's coming next. No black box, no disappearing for three weeks and reappearing with a binder you didn't ask for. Once that structure exists, I'll tell you what to hand off, and whether that's a contractor, a part time hire, or a full time employee. So you spend your time on the work that makes you money, not managing me.

Why i do this

I've always wanted to know how things actually work. Not the version people present, the real person underneath it. That curiosity is the thing that's followed me into every industry on this list, finance, beauty, cannabis, art, screen printing, memorial services, wherever. I wasn't chasing the industry. I was chasing the question underneath it.

There's a specific moment I live for. It's not the audit, not the RACI matrix, not the playbook. It's watching someone stop white-knuckling their own business. Watching them realize they can actually step away for a weekend and nothing falls apart. That shift, from gripping everything to trusting the structure underneath them, that's the whole reason I do this work.

I'm not trying to make myself indispensable to you. Every system I put in place is designed so you need me less over time, not more. That's not how most consultants think, but it's the only version of this work I actually respect.

I get to spend my life doing the thing I'm curious about, figuring out how a business and people actually runs, while helping someone else finally get free enough to chase the thing they actually started this for. That's genuinely the trade I'm making every time I take on a client.
